The new Fireboat Station #20 Project will involve the construction of a two-story fire station building, fireboat bay enclosure, floating dock, positioning and fender piles, retaining walls, emergency generator and additional site improvements. 9,416 sf, two-story Long Beach Fire Department fireboat station on a 2.5-acre site. The station will be designed to accommodate 2 land-side fire apparatus, as well as the new 128’ long fireboat, “Vigilance” and a six member crew.

Other elements of the project include a protective boat basin featuring a floating barrier system, which will include boat ramps, docks, and a breakwater. This project involves extensive collaboration with several stakeholders including the Port, Long Beach Fire Department, Long Beach Police Department, and Harbour Security to instil the purpose of this project by improving emergency management plans and capabilities, applying effective and proven technologies to improve security operations and enhance coordination and collaboration with local, regional, multi-state, and federal agencies.
